Volunteering at The Huntington

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens serves one of the most diverse communities in the nation and is a destination for visitors from around the world. Huntington Volunteers help these visitors discover the institution’s world-renowned art and library collections, breathtaking gardens, and innovative education programs.

Being a Huntington volunteer brings you into contact with people who share your love and enthusiasm for the library, art, and garden collections.
As a Huntington volunteer, you will help to create a vibrant community of learners. Thousands of school children and visitors come to the Huntington annually, where their encounters with volunteers are a crucial part of their experience.

Ongoing training, field trips, workshops, and other volunteer activities will keep things exciting, and will provide opportunities to learn and grow.

If you think you’d like to volunteer at The Huntington, you should know that:

  • You don’t need to have an art degree, a green thumb or a history background.
  • Our volunteers range in age from 14 to 80 +
  • You’ll receive training specific to your assignment.
  • Volunteer opportunities are available year-round, both on weekdays and weekends, in a variety of areas.
  • You’ll receive benefits like discounts in the bookstore and cafeteria, early entrance to the grounds, and invitations to special events and parties.
  • You can volunteer once a week or once a month.

No matter what your age or interests, your skills or schedule, you can help out. Share, learn, discover, and make a difference!
