A variety of exciting sponsorship opportunities are
available for those companies interested in supporting
specific projects such as admission-free “First
Thursdays,” special exhibitions, or our comprehensive
education programs. Becoming a Corporate partner enhances
your own public relations program, strengthening your
organization’s image and visibility on many levels.
Our staff works closely with our Corporate Partners
to provide prominent recognition, unique special events,
and other promotional planning.
We are actively seeking Corporate Partners for the
following projects:
"First Thursdays"
In order to make The Huntington more accessible to a
greater number of people in the community, there is
no admission charge on the first Thursday of each month.
The Huntington hosts more than 500,000 visitors each
year, and approximately 53,000 (10.3%) of them visit
on First Thursdays. The large audiences that visit on
these days include many families and senior citizens
who are considered to have low or moderate incomes.
While the First Thursdays program successfully introduces
many new faces to The Huntington's treasures, the costs
associated with offering free admission draws needed
resources away from other public and scholarly programs.
Therefore, we seek to develop partnerships with foundations
and corporations that share Henry Huntington's vision
of opening The Library, Art Collections, and Botanical
Gardens to all people regardless of their income level.
Education Programs
Huntington provides extensive educational programming
for students of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds
through school tours, popular lectures, teacher workshops,
and public programs. Since its pioneering docent training
in the 1930s, The Huntington has sought to advance society's
educational goals. Education and research are implicit
in our mandate: "…to conduct an institution
of educational value to the public." The Huntington
has persevered in its mission, providing more than 800
school tours in the past year, offering a diverse audience
of 25,000 elementary and middle school students an eye-opening
introduction to art, literature, and nature derived
from the four corners of the world. Family programs
and other informal education programs are also offered
throughout the year on weekends.
Special Exhibits
The Huntington is one of the nation's outstanding centers
for research in the humanities. It is also among Southern
California's oldest and largest independent educational
and cultural institutions, serving both scholars and
the general public. With the opening of the MaryLou
and George Boone Gallery in 2000, a world-class exhibition
venue was established giving us an unprecedented ability
to offer a continuing series of special exhibitions.
We are seeking Corporate partners to help underwrite
special exhibitions in the Boone Gallery.
Our customized and cost-effective sponsorship packages
are made with your objectives in mind, providing your
company with attractive benefits. We will work with
you throughout the entire sponsorship process to create
a rewarding and successful partnership.
