Benefits of Giving

“What Mr. Huntington did was create something the likes of which we don’t find in very many places.  And people have become very supportive of that.”

Robert F. Erburu, Campaign co-chair & Trustees emeriti chair

“It’s such an exciting time at The Huntington, and clearly, people want to be a part of this excitement.”

Ruth B. Shannon, Campaign co-chair & Trustee emerita

Make a difference for generations to come by helping to ensure the vitality of Mr. Huntington’s legacy.  Every gift, large or small, brings the satisfaction of knowing that you are one of a growing group of generous donors who are supporting this exciting research and educational institution.

In addition, The Huntington offers an array of recognition programs. Donors are thanked and their gifts acknowledged appropriately and in keepng with the donor’s wishes.  Donors are kept informed and involved with the benefits of their generosity.

Finally, donors can rest assured that their gifts will be invested or spent wisely and well.  The Huntington has long practiced careful financial management and frugal budgeting.  Annual gifts provide some 30% of the institution’s annual operating budget, and income from previous gifts that established endowments provides another 30%.  From Mr. Huntington’s initial gift through today, private donations are the lifeblood of the institution.
